Here you will find a minor selection of Carl Malmstens furniture. He left almost 10.000 unique drawings behind when he died in 1972. Some of the pieces are still in production today, some are not, but all of them are possible to have made especially for you. Welcome to have a look, hopefully you will find your favourite.

Capella

The wool/linen carpet Capella was designed for the weaver in Svängsta, Sweden with whom Carl Malmsten cooperated in the late 60’s.

Samsas

This armchair, a true Carl Malmsten classic was designed as a part of a group. There are three different sofas to combine with the armchair.

Jättepaddan

A generous and very comfortable armchair which has become one of Malmstens most wanted.

Farmor

The most well known of Carl Malmstens armchairs.

Stadshusstolen

Stadshusstolen (The Stockholm City Hall Chair) is as modern today as it was in 1916.

Visingsö, 1953

A wooden stool with clear inspiration from Swedish folklore tradition.

Golvlampa Staken, 1941

A floor lamp that might have been designed as early as 1928, but officially the year is 1941.

Lilla Åland, 1942

A wooden chair originating from a church in Finnström, Åland where Carl Malmsten held classes in handicraft 1938.

Häggbom

An easy chair designed for architect Sven Häggbom. A classic model with generous depth and well supporting back.

Kalasskrindan, 1948

This trolley was designed by the Master for his own 60’s anniversary exhibition in the shop at Strandvägen 1948.

Örebro, 1949

Designed for Örebro Sparbank for their clients visiting the bank. It was one part of a complete interior furnishing for the bank, very modern at the time.
