Stadshusstolen (The Stockholm City Hall Chair) is as modern today as it was in 1916.
That was the year when Carl Malmsten won both first and second prize in the Stockholm City Hall furniture contest.
A wooden chair originating from a church in Finnström, Åland where Carl Malmsten held classes in handicraft 1938.
With inspiration from this 19th century chair, Malmsten created a classic. Today Lilla Åland is his most sold piece. The chair is and has always been made by Stolab, Smålandsstenar, Sweden.
